I’m so proud of you, Marie. You’re in such a healthier place mentally and emotionally now, and it truly shows. What you shared mirrors my own journey so closely. It gives strong fearful-avoidant healing energy — and I want you to know how valid your pace is.
The person I loved left after eight years of togetherness, and that loss changed me. But the real hero in both our stories is us — the ones who chose ourselves, who chose alchemy over abandonment, healing over bitterness.
The time it took you to open up is completely valid. There is no deadline on healing. Take all the time you need, and always remember you’re never alone in this. We’re here for you, in every season.
We love you so much and we’re cheering you on, always 🤍✨
Wow, Ayushi, this is such a heartfelt comment. Thank you so much. It means the world to me to know that my words resonated 💛 Also, it's validating to know that I am not alone on this journey. So encouraging. Sending a lot of love to you, too! 😊
This piece traces betrayal through the body rather than through explanation. What lingers most is not the cheating, but the silence and how it taught her to disappear. Five years later, the work isn’t forgiveness—it’s reclaiming sound, breath, and space. The voice becomes the place where anger, grief, and selfhood finally move. It’s not closure; it’s presence.
I love what you wrote particularly when you said “Five years later. With more confidence. New paths. New love. And, most of all, a deeper connection to myself.”
I’m a therapist new here writing a book on breakups. Subscribing to your work, would love to support each other.
😄😄😄😄😄 This made me laugh. I do agree. I have to admit though that I also really looked forward to moving closer to the sea. But yes, I counted on him and that was devastating and just really really unexpected 🤡
It touched a chord.
And I am very proud of you Marie.
God Bless.
Thank you for your kind words and support 💛
Thank you my dear friend.
Stay happy and healthy.

Aw my love, I am so happy you are happy now after this.
You did so well.
That sounds like a completely brutal breakup.
I also broke up with my boyfriend after moving somewhere new.
Having to hold yourself through a breakup is hard.
Its lonely.
You get there.
You learn how to really hold yourself.
But it isn't easy.
<3 Thankyou also for validating my pain too.
This is beautifully done.
Thank you so much for your kind words 🧡
It sounds like you’ve been through something similar, and that can be really tough.
I love your perspective, seeing this as a time to get to know yourself and learn how to hold yourself. I wholeheartedly agree.
🔥
🧡
Thank you for sharing this. Side-note; your voice is so calming
Thank you for these heartwarming words 💛
There’s a particular kind of grief that doesn’t get named very often —
the grief of not being trusted with a truth you could have handled, and actually wanted to know.
Not because it would have been easy,
but because honesty would have preserved dignity, coherence, and choice.
I’ve lived that too.
Yes, I agree, it is a story of pain and grief… but also of liberation and honesty. Thank you for sharing your perspective 💙

Breaking up in the pandemic with someone who paid money to live in another country seems like it’s criminal.

This gave me goosebumps. So many of your thoughts and feelings echoed my own experience. Very relatable and so vulnerable for you to share this 🤍
